The data were derived from 62 medical laboratory technology students with the purposive sampling technique. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were used to analyze the data. The data collection included the TOEFL score and drilling tests during the TOEFL preparation training by employing the non-participant observational method. The result reveals that medical laboratory technology students were still at the elementary level, with an average score was 384. Structure, with an average correctness of 13 is the most challenging part of the three sections, followed by reading comprehension 16 correct answers. The easiest part is listening comprehension, depicted in the table of correctness with 18 correct answers. Therefore, the finding of this research suggests that the language center in the university should produce extensive TOEFL preparation training based on the previous results from the test taker's issues with appropriate TOEFL material as solution to student`s obstacles in TOEFL test. The language center should have provided not only the TOEFL test but also facilitated the courses that focus on each skill in the TOEFL part.
Yeyep Natrio, Melly Siska Suryani, Sariani Sariani Copyright (c) 2024 Yeyep Natrio, Melly Siska Suryani, Sariani https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2417 Thu, 22 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Liability for Compensation of Insurance Parties for Maritime Transport Accidents Analysis Decision Number: 640/ Pdt.G /2014/PN.SBY https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2353
Trade becomes an important sector in the development of world economic. In the face of this dynamic development, internal factors in academic organizations, such as job satisfaction, job loyalty, and lecturer work discipline, play a key role in maintaining the quality of teaching, research, and community service. Although job satisfaction, job loyalty, and work discipline have been widely studied in the context of organizations, there have not been many studies that examine the relationship between the three with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in lecturers in universities in Indonesia. OCB covers voluntary behaviors that are not included in the formal job description, but have a positive contribution to the overall well-being of the organization. This study aims to determine the Effect of Job Satisfaction, Work Loyalty, and Work Discipline on OCB (Organizational Citizenship Behavior) on Lecturers of Universitas Perintis Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach with survey methods to collect data from respondents. By using multiple linear regression analysis. Through a questionnaire of 108 respondents, the results turned out to be variables of Job Satisfaction, Work Loyalty, and Work Discipline together against OCB (Organizational Citizenship Behavior) of 0.660 or 66%. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant influence of Job Satisfaction on OCB (Organizational Citizenship Behavior). The findings of this study can provide practical recommendations to improve job satisfaction, job loyalty, and work discipline, as well as motivate OCB among Universitas Perintis Indonesia lecturers.
Yolanda Oktarina, Rafnelly Rafki, Nofriadi Nofriadi , Elfiswandi Elfiswandi, Annisa Weriframayeni , Yulasmi Yulasmi Copyright (c) 2024 Yolanda Oktarina, Rafnelly Rafki, Nofriadi, Elfiswandi, Annisa Weriframayeni , Yulasmi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2398 Mon, 19 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Identifying the Meaning of Work Factors among Lecturer Profession https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2354
Lecturers as the central position of educators have noble duties. Guthrie (1948) classifies the Mambwe language as M15. This article aims to contribute to describing the verbal structure of Mambwe focusing on the influence of morphophonological processes. Using insights from comparative Bantu morphophonology, descriptive linguistics, elicitation, and direct observation data, the article outlines the prominent morphophonological processes which have an influence on the verbal structure of the language, which include; vowel lengthening, gliding, glide harmony, vowel hiatus, vowel and consonant harmony, vowel deletion, vowel maintenance, assimilation, internal change or zero modification and coalescence. The paper shows that the verbal structure in the prefix, subject, and object marker, and the root is influenced by either the palatal glide [y] or the bilabial glide [w] in the plural, glide maintenance, or glide interchange to harmonise the verbs. It is envisaged such a descriptive analysis will make it easier for curriculum developers to understand the verbal structure of the language and enable them to develop grammar as well as curriculum material.
Pethias Siame, Felix Banda Copyright (c) 2024 Pethias Siame, Felix Banda https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/1887 Thu, 11 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0800 The Relationship Betweem Self Image and Prosocial Behavior in Instagram Social Media Users https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2384
Instagram is one of the biggest platforms used by all groups of people. The Principles of Islamic Business Ethics was analyzed to find how it affects the income earned by farmers. It aims to add to the khazanah literature in the field of muamalah in particular. One of them is the trade relationship (buying and selling), which is encountered in daily life. Buying and selling activity is a form of muamalah transaction recommended by Islam. People often do it easily, without knowing whether the buying and selling transactions carried out are contrary to muamalah fiqh. Therefore, in its process, the pillars and conditions must be fulfilled to avoid voiding and damaging the transaction as happened in the practice of buying and selling corn by estimation in Nagari Sumnaik. The objectives of this study are to find out the buying and selling process, its practice, and the Islamic Business Ethics perspectives of muamalah fiqh on buying and selling corn with the estimation system. The method used descriptive qualitative sourced from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques were through interviews, documentation, observation. The data analysis method used qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicated that the buying and selling process of corn with estimation system in Nagari Sumanik is not valid because there are conditions that are not fulfilled according to Islamic provisions, as well as the unfair element of compulsion in setting prices and not given the right khiyar if something unwanted happens in the estimation buying and selling transaction.
Taufik Hidayat, Ardiles Admi, Ari Yonata, Eldaneti Eldaneti, Reni Siska, Siti Asiyah Nasution Copyright (c) 2024 Taufik Hidayat, Ardiles Admi, Ari Yonata, Eldaneti Eldaneti, Reni Siska, Siti Asiyah Nasution https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2391 Sun, 04 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Implementation of Event Management Stages in the Hybrid Event “ITDRI ConFes 2023” https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2389
The digital disruption era has significantly impacted people’s lives, with the internet becoming an integral part of modern society. Even in 431 BC, Pericles, a well-known Athenian statesman, defined democracy by putting forward several criteria: (1) government by the people with full and direct participation of the people; (2) equality before the law; (3) pluralism, namely respect for all talents, interests, desires and views; and (4) respect for a separation and personal area to meet and express individual personality (Roy C Macridis, 1983:19-20). In the same era, we can also get acquainted with the political thoughts of Plato, Aristotle, Polybius and Cicero, etc., to mention some of the thinkers of that time, who also laid the foundations for the notion of democracy. During its development, the concept of democracy underwent an increasing fertile phase and moved towards moderation during the Renaissance. So far, great thoughts have arisen about the relationship between the two rulers or the state on the one hand and the people on the other. There are new and surprising thoughts about the power and thought of Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527). On the Social Contract and the Separation of Powers by Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679), Jhon Locke (1632-1704). Many of these big names have thoughts of contributing significantly to efforts to redefine or implement the term democracy.
Ahmad Naufal Afni Caya, Luqmanul Hakim Copyright (c) 2024 Ahmad Naufal Afni Caya, Luqmanul Hakim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2422 Wed, 28 Feb 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Hidden Curriculum through the Book of Ta’lim Muta’allim for Strengthening Students’ Character at the Integrated Islamic Boarding School Ibnunnafis in Depok https://jurnal.ahmar.id/index.php/soshum/article/view/2393
This research analyzes the impact of the Ta’lim Muta’allim book as a hidden curriculum in learning processes at the integrated Islamic boarding school Ibnunnafis in Depok. The Implementation of the Ta’lim Muta’allim book is expected by the Islamic boarding school to enable students of having great characteristics and ethics for themselves and others.
