SPEAKS Model: Design and Validation for Preventing Sexual Violence in Religious Higher Education

This study emphasizes sexual violence as a global issue that requires responsive reporting and handling mechanisms in higher education institutions. To address this issue, SPEAKS was developed as a model that integrates structured sexual violence reporting procedures into a digital framework. The purpose of this study was to design, develop, and evaluate the SPEAKS model as a digital system for the prevention and response to sexual violence in religious higher education institutions. This study applied a research and development (R&D) approach, combining the ADDIE model with a mixed-methods design. Data collection was initially conducted qualitatively through focus group discussions used to design the SPEAKS model, followed by quantitative validation to test the model's performance. The system was tested using the System Usability Scale involving 52 respondents. The findings indicate that the SPEAKS model facilitates a more accessible reporting process with a structured handling flow and can improve institutional accountability with a score of 70.08 (Good category). The results indicate that the SPEAKS model has the potential to support institutions in strengthening sexual violence prevention mechanisms in religious higher education institutions.
